When our local hop suppliers at Loughran reached out to us and asked if we would like to be one of the first breweries in Ireland to use Oregon based Crosby’s new CGX hop pellets we jumped at the chance. It’s always exciting to see innovation in the hops industry and CGX promises some of the sharpest US hop flavours alongside some improved efficiency which equals less waste in the brewery and a better carbon footprint overall. Rus even came over from the East coast of the States and helped fine tune the recipe with us on the brew day. It’s great to have the input of people who spend their year involved in all things hops.The result was this belting 8.0% DIPA brewed with Azacca®, Idaho 7® and Amarillo® CGX™. These hops have been cryogenically processed to amp up their flavours and aromas! Expect notes of ripe peach, pineapple and passion fruit, layered by a fluffy pillowy malt base with heaps of wheat and oats.”
